Bess Riehl and Amos Lapp are engaged; he is ecstatic, but she is having serious doubts. Bess's heart belongs to Amos's cousin Billy, whose abrupt departure four years earlier has done nothing to ease the longing in her heart. Billy has sworn never to return to Rose Hill Farm after he was wrongfully accused by his family of stealing a valuable collectible. Now he works for a university as the official "rose wrangler." On the hunt for an unidentified rose variety, Billy hesitates when he realizes that his mission will take him to Bess's farm. The two meet, stirring up the attraction both had thought was gone. Billy also learns that his brothers have abandoned their dying father. VERDICT Carol Award-winning author Fisher once again captures the themes of love, hope, and forgiveness that the Christmas season can embody. Readers who adored A Lancaster County Christmas will be enchanted by this story of romantic reconciliation. Also recommended for fans of Ann H. Gabhart's Christmas at Harmony Hill.
